Meridian Duty Free born of a passion: the sea and sailing.
In 1989, Marco Passoni, at the top of the international sailing league, and Pompeo Busnello, owner of craft Meridian, reach together a great goal: victory in the World Sailing Cup(Quarter ton cup) at Falmouth, England. And, the first time in the history of this trophy, that an Italian boat reaches success, built with dedication and team play.
Passoni’s determination and commercial ideas, the entrepreneurial vision of Busnello, and above all the winning spirit that unites them, will shortly give life to a new project: Meridian Duty Free.
In 1993 Meridian Duty Free is born, a dynamic company, streamlined and aware of its potential, and which inherits a successful name and reputation built with a team. In a short time the company grows and the results are not slow to arrive. In 2001 the company exceeds the turnover limit of 15 million euros and in subsequent years the numbers will be consolidated.
Today Meridian is the leader of the Italian Duty Free Market.
